Abstract
|
|
|
A 24-year-old man was presented with severe pain and rapidly destructive lesion
over both proximal femur of 25 days duration.
There was no other organ involvement such as skin, liver, spleen, bone marrow or
Iympt node. The open biopsy from osteolytic lesion of right proximal femur revealed
histiocytic malignancy. The pathologic findings and the clinical picture suggested the
diagnosis of Letterer-Siwe disease rather than malignant histiocytosis.
He went into complete remission with CHOP therapy for 6 courses and local radiation
therapy to right hip, and then maintained with oral cyclophosphamide for anther 6
months.
He was survived more than 24 months without any evidence of relapse till now.
